| A word about Carp....... Sure they are fun to catch, but they are very destructive. Carp are omnivores. As bottom-feeders, carp tend to muddy the water they live in, decreasing oxygen levels for game fish, and they wreck spawning beds. While we have an abundance of largemouth bass, our smallmouth bass populations is really hurting according the report from the Illinois DNR (see Shocking page). We have WAY too many carp in our lake and the population has to be reduced! |
